Type — Student Project
In October 2020 we had a small workshop about pixel fonts, supervised by the master design student Pia Keeling and dutch type designer Luc(as) de Groot. I created two fonts, a slab-style one and a handwriting one, which got an alternative version with a smaller level of detail. I scribbled some forms on normal paper before digitizing them in ‘Adobe Illustrator’ and repaint them with the pixel-tool in ‘Glyphs’. With this tool I was able to easily draw pixel-forms the same way I would do with a normal pen.
Beside the handwriting one, the slab-style font is also still in progress and I am thinking of improving the forms, the kerning and spacing soon. But I am also excited to make a wide version out of the current design.
